Well despite having a million things going on in my life, I can't stay away from helping people play with their dogs. Its therapeutic and well, fun! Focusing on Barn Hunt more or less exclusively has helped me enjoy working with other people's dogs more (yes I'm working my own dogs on a million other things like obedience!) and its just been a blast meeting these people. Special thanks to the Nosework people that are finding their way over to my place, you guys have really shown me other people are as nuts about their dogs finding things with their nose as I am!
With that said, I've begun working on becoming a "real" Barn Hunt club that puts on trials. This was a goal last year but lacked the volunteer oomph to get it moving forward. So far I've done run throughs and a quick evening workshop in town with a conformation show already in 2015. There are plans in the works to provide intro seminars and clinics for other clubs in the Houston area as well. I'm very excited about this infusion of interest in the sport in this part of Texas! If you know a club that's interested, let me know! Right now I'm working on hitting some trials to see how they run things (and title my dogs!) which should lead to judging certification I hope for me. There are a million small details I have to work on between now and when we actually run a trial though, so here's the first thing: DogJoy is now an official Barn Hunt LLC Club! Its not a big deal, yet it is THE big deal to getting the ball rolling forward and I'm pretty excited. Now to get back to my list with about 200 other items! Thanks everyone and come out and play!
