Congrats to everyone that has added a new family member to their pack! Its an exciting and sometimes stressful time in one's household for sure. Add to that "all those things you know now that you want to avoid THIS time" and it can be paralyzing. Really, puppies aren't THAT hard (says the person that's raised, trained, and placed plenty but I can definitely relate to how difficult it can be to figure out what to work on. When you're not in class (and online classes are forthcoming in the Spring for this!), here are some existing books that I like a lot to get you started on. I do some things slightly different do to the performance/obedience nature of our training group so as always, feel free to ask me about that or drop in and do a puppy session so we can check on your progress!

Here's a good book by a good Dr type that does a good job of getting down to the basics of dog (and human!) behavior. If you're wanting some help when I'm not there to get onto you this might be something to add to those tools in your training toolkit!
