DogJoy offers the following in regards to competition style agility at this time:
Please read below for more information including the (extensive) rules and pricing. |
The field consists of an open and mostly level grassy area. Lighting is limited but expanding as we experiment with what works best for the dogs. This is a small hobby farm that also has livestock present (fenced and housed separately from the agility field) so be sure your dogs are reliable with those distractions please.
All new (2015/2016), aluminum, competition grade contact equipment is available. Most of our equipment is AKC regulation (and similar) except in the case of when USDAA contacts are smaller and we used that (if your dog can do the smaller one, they can do the larger one, right?). Jumps are PVC with jump strips and we're working on upgrading/adding more "other" jumps like doubles, triples, etc. A breakaway tire jump is used. This should be complete by Spring 2016. A separate set of practice weaves, "difficult" teeter, jumps, etc is available. Our goal is to provide a location where serious agility competitors can come to work their own dogs, train their own students, and others can prep their dogs for competition in a small, friendly, but professional environment.
If you are interested in beginner/companion style classes there are several excellent trainers in the Bryan/College Station area for that and we would be happy to refer you to them, please contact us for help with that! |
